Chihuahuas were once used as living hot-water bottles

Long before they were awkwardly stuffed into designer purses, these constantly shivering, wildly aggressive tiny dogs served a much stranger purpose. Ancient Central Americans supposedly utilized the naturally warm body temperature of Chihuahuas by literally placing the live animals onto painful muscles, essentially functioning as incredibly angry, breathing hot water bottles.
