Despite entirely defining the concept of natural sourness, lemons are a totally artificial, genetically manipulated Frankenstein fruit. Early agriculturists essentially took a horribly bitter, incredibly thick-rinded wild citron and aggressively crossbred it with a sour orange over countless generations until it finally yielded the tart yellow orb we casually squeeze into tea.
