A closer look
The terrifying protectors of Rapture's Little Sisters almost went from steampunk cool to downright offensive. During the conceptual phase, Irrational Games struggled to design a menacing guardian. One of their serious pitches was a hulking, severely disabled man fused into a massive, weaponized wheelchair. Thankfully, someone realized that fighting weaponized paraplegics didn't exactly scream 'deep philosophical commentary on objectivism.' They opted for the massive atmospheric diving suits instead.
