Despite the incredibly straightforward name, this notorious riot control agent fundamentally lacks any actual gas. It is typically completely solid powder, primarily an incredibly aggressive compound called CS. When the canister forcefully detonates, it rapidly aerosolizes the fine microscopic crystals into the immediate air. It violently irritates your mucous membranes upon strictly physical contact, proving that getting aggressively dusted is significantly worse than merely breathing an odor.
