Navigational trolls existed long before the internet. On December 31, 1899, the captain of the passenger steamer SS Warrimoo realized his ship's exact coordinates. With a bit of strategic steering, he parked the vessel squarely on the intersection of the Equator and the International Date Line right at midnight. Because of this absurdly precise transport logistics flex, the bow of the ship was in the Southern Hemisphere in January 1900, while the stern was in the Northern Hemisphere in December 1899.
