A closer look
Board gamers are notoriously precious about keeping their cardboard components in mint condition, making Risk Legacy a literal horror game for perfectionists. Designer Rob Daviau pitched a game that "remembers" your choices by making you physically destroy it. If a faction is eliminated, you rip up their card. If a city is founded, you place a permanent sticker on the board. By game fifteen, your copy is a mangled, highly personalized artifact of your friend group's specific betrayals, completely unplayable by anyone else.
