A basketball hoop inside the Matterhorn
The Matterhorn’s snowy exterior is a theatrical shell around a working attraction, with a hollow interior that employees can reach by climbing. High inside that space, a small backboard turns an otherwise out-of-view part of the mountain into a place for a quick game during a break.
A backstage detail, not a ride feature
The hoop is not part of the bobsled experience: guests ride through the mountain without seeing it. Its appeal lies in the contrast between the carefully staged alpine peak outside and the practical, improvised corner within. For the employees who climb the structure, the mountain is both a workplace and, briefly, a place to shoot baskets.
