Buster Keaton filmed for years with a broken neck

You know you're a workaholic when you casually power through a fractured cervical vertebra. During the filming of Sherlock Jr. in 1924, a deluge of water from a water tower slammed Keaton onto a steel rail. He had a headache, brushed it off, and kept filming. It wasn’t until a routine check-up years later that a doctor informed him he had been walking around with a previously broken neck.
