The Simpsons was nearly canceled over bad animation

The longest-running animated sitcom in history was nearly strangled in its crib by absolute visual incompetence. The first pass at the animation from a Korean studio was so incredibly jarring, jagged, and ugly that creator Matt Groening screamed at the producers, and Fox threatened to scrap the entire project. They were forced to re-animate 70% of the pilot, accidentally saving billions in future revenue.
