Most people remember Shari Lewis as the terrifyingly cheerful woman who subjected an entire generation of children to "The Song That Doesn't End" via a sock puppet named Lamb Chop. But beneath that aggressively wholesome, ventriloquist exterior was a hardcore science fiction nerd. In a bizarre career crossover, Lewis actually co-wrote "The Lights of Zetar," an official episode for the third season of the original "Star Trek" series. It turns out the woman who spent her days professionally arguing with a piece of wool on her hand was perfectly qualified to write about space madness and alien possessions.
