A closer look
Action director Michael Bay was so incredibly lazy and determined to save money during the production of Transformers Dark of the Moon that he literally recycled entire action sequences from his previous movie The Island. If you watch the highway chase scenes side by side, you can clearly see the exact same cars crashing and flipping in the exact same choreography, just with giant alien robots digitally painted over the original footage. Millions of theatergoers paid premium ticket prices to watch a supposedly brand new summer blockbuster, completely unaware they were being subjected to high-definition corporate recycling. It is honestly an impressive level of audacity to assume your audience is so distracted by massive explosions and loud noises that they will not notice you are literally selling them the exact same car crash twice
