The patent for forcing motors to vibrate inside a plastic shell is fiercely guarded, resulting in massive multimillion-dollar lawsuits. Companies have had to redesign their entire internal circuitry or pay exorbitant licensing fees just so you can physically feel it when your character drives into a digital wall.
