Sloth's eye in The Goonies was controlled remotely

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Playing the lovable monster Sloth in 'The Goonies' required incredible facial gymnastics. His drooping, deformed eye wasn't CGI; it was a complex mechanical rig remotely operated by an off-screen crew member. Matuszak had to perfectly time his own acting to match whenever a technician decided to randomly blink his artificial eyeball.
