Giving users a button titled 'Turbo' makes them feel incredibly powerful, until they realize it does the exact opposite. This famous button didn't speed anything up; instead, pressing it physically underclocked the processor so incredibly fast older games wouldn't run at an unplayable, hyperactive speed. It was a brilliant psychological trick disguised as hardware.
