Oldest surviving piece of clothing resembles an ancient rag

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Preserving a piece of fabric for over five thousand years results in a garment that looks exactly as terrible as you would expect. Excavated from an ancient tomb, the Tarkhan Dress is a heavily pleated linen shirt that has somehow stubbornly survived since the dawn of advanced civilization. While highly historically significant, the stained, tattered shirt definitely wouldn't survive a modern wash cycle.
