American President William Howard Taft never actually got stuck in the White House bathtub, but he did employ a dairy cow named Pauline Wayne who freely roamed the executive lawn to provide the family with fresh milk. Pauline was a massive local celebrity who occasionally went missing, forcing highly trained Secret Service agents to frantically canvas the surrounding Washington neighborhoods looking for the missing bovine before the press found out. She was even once kidnapped by angry slaughterhouse workers when she was temporarily shipped to a farm in Wisconsin, creating what was arguably the most bizarre hostage negotiation in American political history. The fact that history chose to collectively remember Taft for a completely fictional, embarrassing bathtub incident rather than his employment of a heavily guarded executive dairy cow is a profound failure of the American educational system
