Mount Fuji has recently been surrounded by massive black screens erected by angry locals in the town of Fujikawaguchiko just to block the view of the iconic volcano from a specific Lawson convenience store. Hoards of oblivious tourists were constantly blocking traffic, trespassing on private property, and leaving massive piles of trash just to get a perfectly framed shot of a mundane grocery store with a snowy mountain in the background. It is a stunning testament to the sheer toxicity of social media trends that an entire community decided their best option was to permanently ruin their own beautiful skyline rather than deal with one more aspiring influencer standing in the middle of a busy intersection
