Sand that comes out of water completely dry

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

By simply coating entirely normal grains of sand with a trimethylsilanol vapor, the sand decides to permanently sever ties with liquids. When dumped in a glass of water, it refuses to separate, clumping into totally dry, silvery blobs. Once pulled back out, it emerges completely bone dry, entirely defying basic fluid logic.
