Being a cyborg police officer is apparently the ultimate crash diet. Peter Weller's bulky, fiberglass Robocop suit was so incredibly insulated and heavy that he sweated out approximately three pounds of pure water weight every single day of shooting. Production eventually had to install an air conditioner directly inside the robotic chassis.
