Aladdin never rode a flying carpet in original texts

Despite being heavily featured in every modern adaptation, the magical hovering rug is entirely absent from the oldest versions of the story. The original protagonist simply commanded a wildly overpowered genie to teleport him wherever he needed to go. The carpet was injected by later translators who felt instant teleportation simply lacked decorative flair.
