Every single time a droplet hits a puddle, it throws a tiny temper tantrum. The impact creates a momentary crater in the surface. As the surrounding fluid aggressively rushes back in to fill the void, the intense collision forces a minuscule pillar of liquid straight upward before it inevitably collapses back down.
