A closer look

Walkers in the early seasons of The Walking Dead were explicitly forbidden from blinking, requiring the actors playing zombies to endure intense eye strain while stumbling around the sweltering Georgia heat. Production even went so far as to use digital effects in post-production to seamlessly remove any accidental blinks that the extras couldn't hold back, spending valuable CGI budget just to ensure the undead maintained a perfectly glassy, unblinking stare. This level of pedantic dedication is hilarious considering the show is about reanimated, rotting corpses that somehow have the strength to tear human beings apart but cannot handle a slight breeze without falling over. Despite the massive budget and strict rules about eye movements, the writers still completely ignored basic laws of physics and biology, proving that television producers care far more about a cool visual aesthetic than making any actual logical sense
