Long before frat boys were getting regrettable tribal bands in Cabo, European royalty was getting inked. In 1891, before he became the last Emperor of Russia, Nicholas took a diplomatic trip to Japan. After a long night of drinking, he requested a traditional Japanese tattoo artist to come to his ship. He walked away with a massive, highly detailed black-and-red dragon covering his forearm.
