Imagine producing a transatlantic #1 hit while actively dodging ghosts and stepping over a toilet. British producer Joe Meek used his London flat as an instrument, stomping on stairs for percussion and recording vocals in his bathroom to get that eerie, psychogeographic reverb. He was completely unhinged, tone-deaf, and obsessed with the occult, proving you don't need a million-dollar studio when you have a healthy dose of paranoia and a bathtub.
