South Park began as a bizarre Christmas card

Before it became the longest-running satirical cartoon on television, it was just two college dropouts making a violently festive VHS tape. A Fox executive paid Trey Parker and Matt Stone a measly $2,000 to make a video Christmas card for his Hollywood friends. That bootleg tape circulated like a cursed artifact, eventually birthing the multi-million dollar empire of high-concept potty humor.
