Leave it to nineteenth-century doctors to invent the most metal fake disease in history. When passenger trains were first introduced, medical 'experts' warned that human bodies were simply not designed to travel at the terrifying velocity of 50 mph. They diagnosed a hypothetical condition where a passenger's uterus would fly out of her body, or a person's brain would simply melt from the G-force. Shockingly, commuters survived, and the only thing that actually melted was the credibility of Victorian science.
