The demotion of this beloved icy rock makes perfect sense when you realize how frankly pathetic its dimensions are. If you stretched Pluto out across the North American continent, it would comfortably fit between the coasts with room to spare. It is basically an oversized frozen parking lot drifting endlessly in the void, completely undeserving of full planetary status.
