Mangrove trees aggressively filter out harsh external salt

Living halfway submerged in pure saltwater would easily kill basically any other tree on earth, but mangroves simply adapted to be brutal filtration systems. Their roots actively block out almost all the salt before it even enters the plant. Any extra salt that sneaks past security is callously pushed out through the leaves, forming crusty crystals on the surface.
