The comfort of your feet is dictated entirely by an arbitrary number slapped on the side of a plastic vice. A high flex rating means the boot is unyieldingly stiff, transferring every ounce of movement instantly to the ski. A low flex rating offers more cushion and bend, which is vastly more pleasant until you realize your skis are barely responding to your input.
