Getting utterly lost was still significantly cheaper than buying this monster. Released in 1985, the Etak Navigator used vector graphics stored on literal cassette tapes to map out cities. The screen was clunky, you had to swap tapes just to drive across town, and it cost $3,000, making a paper map look like the apex of human convenience.
