How a laser can ride down a waterfall

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Because photons apparently have terrible directional skills, pointing a laser into a falling stream of liquid can entirely trap the light beam inside. Through total internal reflection, the light uselessly bounces off the internal walls of the stream, helplessly riding the waterfall straight down.
