In a phenomenal act of technological treason, the most iconic audio cue in Microsoft's history was born on an enemy machine. Ambient music legend Brian Eno was commissioned to create an inspiring, futuristic sound in exactly 3.25 seconds. He famously completed the microscopic symphony using an Apple Mac, proudly admitting later that he had never even touched a PC in his life.
