Why squaring a circle is impossible

Ancient philosophers wasted centuries trying to construct a square with the exact same area as a given circle using only a compass and straightedge. It is completely, definitively impossible. Because circular dimensions inherently rely on transcendental constants, trying to perfectly map them onto straight rigid lines is a fool's errand that ends in absolute mathematical failure.
