A closer look

Jeanne Dixon was the ultimate master of failing upward. A Washington D.C. real estate agent turned celebrity psychic, she skyrocketed to fame after vaguely predicting that a Democrat elected in 1960 would die in office. Following JFK's assassination, everyone conveniently ignored her horrific track record—like her absolute certainty that the Soviets would beat the US to the moon, or that World War III would kick off in 1958. She basically invented the 'throw enough spaghetti at the wall and hope a president hires you' school of prophecy.
