A closer look
Look at the adorable koala, a creature that survives purely on toxic, nutrient-free garbage. Eucalyptus leaves are incredibly fibrous and absolutely loaded with poison. Since baby koalas (joeys) are not born with the specialized gut bacteria needed to digest this horrible diet, the mother has to manually install it. She does this by excreting a specialized, liquid form of feces called 'pap,' which the joey enthusiastically eats. Truly a beautiful, magical moment in the animal kingdom.
