A broken console accidentally created rock’s fuzz sound

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

The gritty, distorted sound that defined rock and roll was a total accident caused by shoddy electronics. While recording a country song in 1961, a transformer inside the studio's mixing console completely blew out, causing the bass to sound like a swarm of incredibly angry bees. The musicians loved the glitch so much, engineers eventually built the first fuzz pedal strictly to replicate that broken hardware.
