Daredevils once parachuted from moving trains

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Early 20th-century daredevils looked at perfectly safe train rides and found them unbearably boring. Their solution was to climb atop the roof of a speeding locomotive, wait for it to cross a massive bridge, and leap off with an early, highly unreliable parachute, banking on sheer drag to stop them from becoming a permanent grease spot.
