The history books aggressively lie to you by claiming "The Jazz Singer" was the first sound movie. Over a decade earlier, cinematic trailblazer Alice Guy-Blaché was already cranking out hundreds of synchronized sound films using a massive phonograph machine called the Chronophone. She was directing lip-synced opera singers and comedians while Hollywood bros were still trying to figure out how to keep their cameras from jamming, making her the uncredited godmother of the modern talkie.
