Glacial erratics are boulders dropped miles away
HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART
Sometimes you find a massive, oddly shaped boulder sitting in the middle of a flat plain where it clearly does not belong. These are glacial erratics. A glacier simply picked up the giant rock, carried it hundreds of miles across the continent, and dropped it when the ice melted, leaving geologists deeply confused for multiple centuries.
