Bleach was almost rejected as a Yu Yu Hakusho copy

One of the highest-selling manga series of all time almost never existed. Creator Tite Kubo's initial pitch for Bleach was outright rejected by Shonen Jump editors because they thought it looked way too much like Yu Yu Hakusho. Kubo almost quit drawing entirely until Akira Toriyama (creator of Dragon Ball) sent him a letter encouraging him to keep trying.
