Community gaslighting is a powerful development tool. When the original Diablo was released, a baseless rumor spread that clicking on a specific cow enough times would unlock a secret bovine dimension. Even though it was a total lie, Blizzard got so tired of answering questions about it that they actually programmed a horde of bipedal, halberd-wielding cows into the sequel purely out of spite.
