The man wrote 120 plays, defined the genre of classical tragedy, lived to the ripe old age of 90, and then was supposedly taken out by a rogue piece of fruit. Historical accounts, which admittedly loved irony, claim the great tragedian Sophocles died trying to swallow a grape during a public recitation, offering a deeply underwhelming exit.
