A closer look
Production on the set of James Cameron's massive blockbuster Titanic came to a screeching halt in 1996 when an unknown prankster spiked the crew's lobster chowder with a massive dose of phencyclidine, better known as the hallucinogenic drug PCP. Over eighty crew members, including the famously tyrannical director himself, had to be rushed to the local hospital after they started violently hallucinating and throwing up in the cafeteria. To this day, nobody actually knows who poisoned the soup, though anyone who has ever worked a sixteen-hour shift under a screaming Hollywood director can probably understand the motive. It remains one of the most hilariously unhinged behind-the-scenes disasters in cinematic history, proving that even a two-hundred-million-dollar budget cannot protect you from disgruntled caterers
