Jimi Heselden proudly purchased the Segway company in 2010, firmly believing that the quirky two-wheeled motorized personal transporters were the undisputed future of urban mobility and green transportation. Less than a year after taking control of the entire enterprise, the multi-millionaire tragically died after accidentally reversing his rugged off-road Segway model directly off a steep cliff into a river while walking his dog on his own expansive estate.
