Why iron rusts back toward the earth
HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART
You spend a fortune on a nice steel frame, and the iron inside immediately plots to become dirt again. Rusting is simply iron casually reacting with atmospheric oxygen to form iron oxide, perfectly mirroring the raw, unrefined ore state it was originally mined from. The metal is basically homesick, slowly destroying itself just to get back to nature.
