A closer look
Harriet Tubman absolutely did not have time for cowards on the Underground Railroad. Guiding runaway slaves through swamps to freedom was highly illegal and incredibly dangerous. If anyone panicked and tried to turn back, they risked exposing the whole group. Tubman would pull out her revolver, point it directly at their head, and politely inform them they would either be free or be dead. A masterful motivational speaker.
