Decades of wild alien conspiracy theories about the Dyatlov Pass hikers getting horribly crushed in their tents got completely dismantled by animation code. Researchers actually borrowed the snow simulation software from Disney's movie 'Frozen' to model brutal, gravity-driven katabatic winds on the slope. It proved a freak slab avalanche was not only possible but mathematically guaranteed to silently crush the hikers' chests while they slept.
