A closer look
Oysters possess the unique biological ability to repeatedly change their sex throughout their lifespan, depending entirely on environmental needs and mating conditions. They typically begin their lives as males, which requires far less biological energy, and later transition into females once they have grown large enough to support the massive energy drain of producing millions of eggs. If the surrounding population requires more sperm, they will simply revert back to male without missing a single beat. These humble mollusks have essentially conquered gender fluidity millions of years before humans even invented the concept of gender roles, proving once again that nature prioritizes survival and reproductive efficiency over literally everything else while we argue about arbitrary societal labels
