Vinyl collectors treat cardboard sleeves like sacred artifacts, storing them in hermetically sealed plastic, so Mondo naturally decided to punish them. When the boutique label released the official Fight Club soundtrack, they engineered the album's outer jacket entirely out of thick brown shipping paper with a pull-tab string running right down the middle. To actually access the vinyl records inside, the buyer had to permanently and aggressively tear the packaging directly in half. It forced a consumer base obsessed with 'mint condition' to engage in the exact anti-materialist destruction the movie preaches.
