A closer look

That 3 p.m. 'I hate my life' crash is often more about physics than personality. By midafternoon, many people are slightly dehydrated, slumped over a screen, and marinating in stale indoor air — a perfect recipe for headaches, brain fog, and fake sadness your mind then tries to explain as 'I’m unmotivated' or 'my job is terrible'. Even a 1–2% drop in body water can affect concentration and mood, and staring at bright blue light for hours tricks your brain into thinking it's still noon long after your internal clock wants a slowdown. The simplest reset isn't coffee, it's a three-part micro-routine: drink a full glass of water, stand up and stretch your chest open for 60 seconds, and get two minutes of real daylight by a window or outside. Do it before you open social media or grab a snack. If your energy lifts even a bit, that's your body telling you the crisis was partly chemical, not existential.
